Shiftlineby SIMPLionEXTerms of Service
Last updated 28 September 2026
These terms govern use of Shiftline, provided by Simplionex ("we", "us"). By creating a business account or using the employee app you agree to them. Contact: support@simplionex.com.
1. The service
Shiftline lets businesses ("Customers") post overtime shortages and lets their workers ("Employees") request, accept or decline extra shifts. Customers remain the employer and are solely responsible for employment decisions, pay, contracts and legal compliance.
2. Business accounts
- You must be 18+ and authorised to act for your business.
- Each sign-up creates a separate private workspace. You control who is invited as a planner and must remove access when someone leaves.
- Keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Trial and subscription
New workspaces get a 15-day free trial. After the trial the service costs £12 per month per workspace (incl. any applicable VAT unless stated otherwise), billed monthly in advance. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We will give 30 days' notice of price changes.
4. Employee app
Employees access the app with a code issued by their employer. Overtime offered through Shiftline is voluntary. Requesting a shift is not a binding agreement until approved by the employer and re-confirmed by the employee.
5. Working time
Customers must comply with the Working Time Regulations 1998 (or local equivalent), including: a 20-minute rest break when working more than 6 hours; 11 consecutive hours' rest in each 24-hour period; weekly rest; the 48-hour average weekly limit unless the worker has voluntarily opted out in writing; and night-work limits. Shiftline shows reminders but does not check total hours across other systems and is not a substitute for the Customer's own compliance.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt to access other workspaces, upload unlawful content, or use it to pressure workers into unsafe hours.
7. Data protection
For employee data, the Customer is the data controller and we act as processor under the data processing terms in our Privacy Notice. We process data only on the Customer's instructions to provide the service.
8. Availability and liability
We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is". Notifications may be delayed. To the extent permitted by law our total liability is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything that cannot be limited by law.
9. Termination
You may close your workspace at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms. After closure we delete workspace data within 90 days unless law requires otherwise.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Consumers keep any rights under the laws of where they live.
